Real Madrid Resort Island in the Emirates

According to The Guardian, famous football team and sports institution Real Madrid, recently uncovered their plans to develop a project entitled Real Madrid Resort Island in collaboration to the government of the Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah. The talked about $1 billion investment will result in exclusive villas, a 5-star hotel, an amusement park, a club museum and the world’s first stadium with one side open to the sea. “Real Madrid Resort Island will be a major tourist and sporting center of great dimensions and the highest level. This extraordinary complex will attract millions of people looking for quality leisure services. It is a decisive and strategic step that will strengthen our institution in the Middle East and Asia“, explained Florentino Pérez, the president of Real. The island designed by J+H Boiffils, will be shaped like the team’s logo and is said to attract around one million visitors in 2015, its first opening year. Casa de lujo en Maui, Hawai

La casa Maui Jewel (la joya de Maui) se ubica en la isla de Maui, en el archipielago de Hawai. Se trata de unas espectacular vivienda de lujo cerca del mar.

La arquitectura de esta casa pretende expresar una cierta continuidad del azul intenso del Océano Pacífico, especialmente mediante la piscina que se encuentra a los pies de las habitaciones de la misma.

Cuenta con cinco dormitorio y seis baños y se alquila para vacaciones. Los precios van desde 6.750 a 8.250 dólares por noche. Se trata pues de un sitio espectacular para quien pueda permitirse semejante desembolso y tenga el capricho de dormir a orillas de las espectaculares playas de Hawaii.

Puentes en madera que parecen de cuento, en China

Según una tradición del grupo étnico dong, en China, cuando nace un niño se celebra la llegada de un nuevo integrante a la familia plantando un abeto. Cuando este niño se convierte en adulto, se procede a talar el árbol para construir con la madera obtenida la nueva vivienda del joven. La relación entre la comunidad dong y el uso de la madera ha alcanzado niveles que hasta podríamos catalogar como un arte, incluyendo un puente que desde hace casi cien años, se sostiene sobre pilotes de roca sin haber utilizado ningún clavo ni ramaches.

El puente de la Lluvia y el Viento, quizás el más emblemático, atraviesa el río Linxi y posee unos 64 metros de largo. Construido con piedras y madera incrustadas, el puente posee cinco torres y aleros, y es el epicentro de un paisaje pintoresco: los meandros del río, los árboles de té en las colinas, y los campesinos trabajando en sus campos. Casi como dentro de un mundo perdido o de cuentos, algunas de las obras maestras dong, están protegidas como patrimonio de la humanidad por la UNESCO.:

Uno de los mejores puntos para observar los pueblos tradicionales dong es en el área de Chengyang, en Guangxi y a cuatro horas de Guilin. En la zona, perduran varios pueblos (los más visitados son Ma’an, Pingzhai, Yanzhai, Chengyang Dazhai, pingpu, Pingtan, Jichang y Guandong) que pareciera que aún no se han enterado demasiado de los cambios del mundo moderno.

En su mayoría, asentados en la provincia de Guangxi, los pueblos dong no suelen ser muy numerosos: apenas unas 30 viviendas en promedio, siempre construidas en madera y con no más de dos pisos. Las tradiciones dong, han desplegado a lo largo de miles de años un modo de vida completamente sustentable, de la mano de la agricultura.

En Valencia

Located in Valencia, Spain, in a municipality called Rocafort in the Eastern part of the country, these single-family residential projects were designed by architects Antonio Altarriba Comes. These residential units bring together three types of housing: type A and types B and C. Each of them has unique features but look fantastic as a whole. Differentiated by some architectural elements, the collection of six houses avoids monotonous recurring parts. The semi-detached houses were constructed in such a manner as to alternate the types, so that each family feels the same comfort without experiencing boring repetition. Although the architectural pieces are the same, the architects managed to place them in different ways, making the building process easier and the result feel like personalized homes. Patios on all the houses break the monotony and offer a strong connection to the surroundings. Small crystal clear pools offer the inhabitants a world of fun in their own backyard. Cantilevering over the gardens, the living spaces on the higher level offer natural light through extensive use of glass.
